A lot has happened, and I’m going to comment on as much of it as can.   One thing I’ve been thinking a lot about (as those of you who have been following me would know) is masculinity, media, religion, and politics.  In that connection, I’ve become increasingly interested in Glenn Beck, as a cultural icon, personality, political figure, and emblem of a certain kind of masculinity.  He deals with religion relatively little, I know, but a kind of jingoistic imaginary that concatonates religion with constructed spaces of imagined identity seems to lurk there, just below the surface.  And, such imaginaries are the particular stuff of mediations of masculinity.  Will it all surface?
